Zimmer

Dad is still in the hospital. Auntie V just sent me a video of him walking using the Zimmer frame in his hospital room, guided by his physiotherapist.

I could also see Pak Lang in the video, Dad’s younger brother who is 7 years younger than he is. So kind of him to come visit despite all his own medical challenges.

Today is Day 2 of my Covid self-quarantine. I tested negative again today but will have to still check tomorrow if I am still negative. Experience has shown me that the danged thing might only pop up on the test kit 4 days after the initial exposure. So we wait, test and wait.

I am bunking with Joe in his room, which is at the opposite end of the corridor from the room I share with Wes. I think he rather enjoys having his Mum around …😁

Mendadih

Wes has gone to Pasar Pasir Penambang to get our stock of fresh fish and seafood for the rest of the month of Ramadhan 1444H. I decided not to follow because of my back problem. It’s just gotten better, Alhamdulillah, and I do not want to aggravate it by having to sit 2 hours in a car going to and fro KL – Kuala Selangor.

Once I get my prawns, I will want to make the ‘instant’ chee cheong fun (using Vietnamese rice paper for the skin) that went viral all over TikTok and elsewhere several months back. Must make the chilli crisp with dried shrimp as well for total authenticity.

Made dadih (milk pudding) with the help of #FrauThermaSechs 2 days ago.

The Milo one was so tasty, even the plain one tasted good.

I don’t know if I’ll ever make them again though. Rather sweet… although I could reduce the condensed milk in the recipe.

Bought these cute 120ml glass jars from a Thermomix advisor who had an extra set. Love them. Next project should be my own homemade yoghurt, Ψ§Ω†Ψ΄Ψ§Ψ‘Ψ§Ω„Ω„Ω‡ πŸ’ƒπŸ»

Merhaba Nisan!

(That’s TΓΌrkΓ§e for “Hello April!” 😊 Tak ada kena mengena dengan batu kat kubur, ya… 😬)

April already. Time is flying so fast. Rather busy Saturday morning for me because I had back-to-back Zoom meets. One was an introduction to a new investment option and the other was to understand the changes in the investment option I entered back in March 2023. Alhamdulillah I have doubled my initial capital in a year but because they now choose to give profits in their own token/crypto coin and the value of said token/crypto coin is subject to the vagaries of the market.

I cannot withdraw any of my earnings now without massive loss because I entered the market when USDT was 1:1 to the USD. Now since the profits are given to me in tokens/crypto coins, I need to convert them to USDT before converting them to MYR. The value of the coin to USDT is now at 1 coin = USDT 0.10. Hel-loooo… that’s a (paper) loss of 90%. The moment I withdraw, I will realise that loss, so I just gotta sit tight and hope against hope that the value of the coin rises to at least 0.8, if not back to 1.0.

Poonderslah kan… 😣

Wes had to take Alex to his driving school to collect his P driving licence coz I was tied up this morning. Now Wes is off hitting some balls at the range and I am taking the opportunity to dash off an entry here.

I must write about an interesting incident that happened yesterday (31/03/23). Perhaps in the next post…

Sagi-A*

I always think of things I want to write in this blog of mine whilst I am not actually on this “Add New Post” screen ~ in the shower, whilst driving, while I am playing with my cat… πŸ˜… I always think to myself, “Ah.. I want to natter on about that!” and then when I am actually on the laptop I bleddy forget what it is that I wanted to say! πŸ€ͺπŸ˜‚

I don’t know if it’s C o v i d brain (I did get it twice 😩 despite paranoid measures! Subhanallah…) but there seems to be large swathes of emptiness in my short term memory. Rather alarming… but there you are.

Didn’t do anything much today, Wes went for his golf practice as usual in the morning and I started watching Season 2 of “The G l o r y” on N*tflix. I watched the first season back in January and found the premise interesting enough to warrant finishing the entire saga. I was rather disappointed that the heroine/main character did not get to explore her amazing (on-screen) chemistry with the #DILF that is J u n g S u n g I l (H a D o – Y e o n g in the series). IMHO, there was no chemistry at all between the heroine and her love interest in the series. Their kissing scene was like the slap of a wet dishrag in the face! Having said all this… how the loose ends of every plot/subplot were tied up very neatly in the end was very satisfying to this viewer. I was half afraid that the writers were going to go the “realist way” and not give the villain her just desserts but Alhamdulillah she received wot she deserved in the most satisfying manner πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

Went for a foot, shoulder and neck massage at F*otsie Spa nearby in the evening. My usual masseuse, Rozie was off so I took Mai who is Wes’ usual masseuse. OK lah, I still prefer Rozie, perhaps I am so used to her technique already. Wes tried a new masseuse (from Thailand) but said she was rather rubbish. When asked to press harder, she started pinching him. Apaaaadah. Sky, the other Thai masseuse there, who once gave me a body massage was pretty good. Will get Wes to try her massage next time.
