Marhaban Ya Ramadhan

First day of Ramadhan 1444H today. Didn’t do much, just a simple iftar at home with the usual dishes that we usually eat for dinner… nothing extra, except for the chemil-chemilan for the actual breaking of fast. The helper would make Arabic luqaimat (fried dough balls drenched in syrup), sambosa, vegetable spring rolls, Indonesian bakwan or tauhu isi. (NOT all at one time, just one or two max per iftar.)

That’s the adat in this house, we break our fast with dates and these “appetisers” then we adjourn for Maghrib solah. We only have a full, proper meal (dinner) after we have done Maghrib. Nothing extra, just rice/bread with 2-3 dishes as we usually eat outside of Ramadhan. Baaas…

After the meal, Wes likes to have his cuppa char brewed soni dharti-style, by his wife’s own hand… and after that off he goes to taraweeh at the venue of his choice for the day ~ it could be Al-Kha*dem, the masjid near our house or even at home with me. These days he doesn’t even ask for moreh after he returns from his taraweeh. Back in the day, we would serve him whatever dessert I made or if there is none, it would be fruit and the leftover chemilan from iftar.

Don’t be that AsSol (Yusof)

News about Sy*msul Yusof filing for nusyuz against his wife P*teri Sar*h crossed my IG timeline today. He also alleges that Sar*h cheated on him with her ex-bf who is also married. Adoiii… Small Dick Energy betei ko ni AsSol.(Ramainyaaaaa lah assholes dalam dunia ni, kan? *hantuk kepala dia kat dinding*)

How “classy” tetiba alleging macam² and casting terrible aspersions on the mother of your children. Dahlah ko takmo lepaskan dia, out of pure spite. Ko kan dah ada bini baru… and now just because you want to spite her, you refuse to divorce her. Pastu kasi excuse cheebs: “Saya masih sayangkan dia lagi” 🙄🙄🙄 Puuuuiiiii….

Kalo ko “sayangkan” dia lagi, ko takkan lukakan hati dia by even fraternising with that twerking kongaja bint, you even MARRIED the belen which drives the stake into a wife’s heart even deeper. Yes, polygamy is allowed in Islam and even though I am not a wife who will accept it, I am never one to say that it is wrong, because Allah SWT allows it. However, surely ada cara yang lebih baik to go about it. AND… if your first wife cannot accept it, the best thing is to let her go in goodness, not deal in spite and acrimony like this.

Now that he alleges she had an affair and macam², in Islam he is required to produce 4 witnesses that have to fulfil certain criteria. If he still accuses her and cannot produce incontrovertible proof attested by these 4 witnesses, the punishment of wrongly accusing a chaste woman is 80 lashes. Times like these I wish this country practised hudud laws. Bior padan kena 80 of the best from an ekor pari whip. Tak duduk seumur hidup lah ko..

Went to B*rkat Madinah today to do some pre-Ramadhan 1444H shopping. Bought 5kgs of Ajwa Aliya (they are even better quality than the so-called “VVIP” ones katanya, sebbaek acik tak salah beli! 😅 ) , 2 kgs of Maryami, 2kgs of Deglet Nour (Wes likes them so much *shrug*) and 3 kgs of Medjool. I intend to send some to the Ketupat Krew, the rest should tide the fam over until the end of Ramadhan, inshaaAllah.

Bought everyone shawarma sammiches from the kiosk outside of the supermarket. Ate mine whilst it was still hot on the drive back. (I wasn’t driving, Idham the driver was). It was massive, filled me completely. (The shawarma sandwich lah!) 😅

Supir

Sat at a CBTL in Set*a Ecoh*ll Mall after dropping Alex off at his campus for a General Studies course… on a Saturday. *groans* He will finish in about 2 hours from now and acik kosserlah nak balik all the way to KL just to have to technically “turn on my heel” and drive back to Semenyih… in the last kopek school holiday traffic jengkreng. Much nopeness!

Notts Uni Masjid

I’m not even hungry coz I had breakfast with Wes very early this morning before he left for his Monthly Medal match at KLGCC. Since I need an excuse to use their WiFi 😬, I ordered a Vanilla Ice Blended (kahve ile, of course) and a so-called “Homemade Chicken Pie” (which just passes muster in taste, IMO). I don’t know whether this Setia EcoHill is still part of Semenyih or it’s considered Rinching.

OMG… wot an adventurous weekend! Lumree has ventured into Rinching 😆 I like the vibe here though… a laidback sleepy hollow with all the amenities of civilisation like C*ffee Be*n, Teal*ve, B*ost and B*rger K*ng 😁

I wrote to Sharon, my sister-in-law, yesterday. It was at Wes’ urging that I did so, to clarify that all the things she heard from AH are not true. Kaymark punya Daghai Kelabu. 🤲🏻

However, she hasn’t seemed to have bothered to check her phone because my messages are still on delivered ~ double grey ticks. Sharon is a lovely person but being a ♌️ just like me, she can be prone to irritability when rubbed the wrong way. With her husband wanting to take a second wife now, I think that particular state of emotion is perpetual for her these days. I don’t blame her… so I shall be patient.

Daebak!

We had home-cooked Korean Bulgogi complete with banchan this evening:

The meat was Blackmore Wagyu MB5. Not the fattiest cut, but I like it because there is more flavour and “bite” to it.

For the banchan I made stir-fried fishcake (Eomuk Bokkeum), beansprouts (sukjunamul-muchim) and spinach (sigeumchi-namul). Added on kimchi and radish that I bought as well. Tried making the Seafood and Green Onion Pajeon too but failed miserably. Was just too stodgy and wouldn’t crisp up. 😬 We shall try again next time, انشاءالله

Bolehhhhlah buat ghaso², rather than having to spend RM1,500 at a restaurant for the 1.5kg of beef I served, the meat alone just cost me RM150 (Wagyu at that!) At Q*ngH*Gu, it’s RM 312 for 600g… bayangkanlah yang dinging

Sagi-A*

I always think of things I want to write in this blog of mine whilst I am not actually on this “Add New Post” screen ~ in the shower, whilst driving, while I am playing with my cat… 😅 I always think to myself, “Ah.. I want to natter on about that!” and then when I am actually on the laptop I bleddy forget what it is that I wanted to say! 🤪😂

I don’t know if it’s C o v i d brain (I did get it twice 😩 despite paranoid measures! Subhanallah…) but there seems to be large swathes of emptiness in my short term memory. Rather alarming… but there you are.

Didn’t do anything much today, Wes went for his golf practice as usual in the morning and I started watching Season 2 of “The G l o r y” on N*tflix. I watched the first season back in January and found the premise interesting enough to warrant finishing the entire saga. I was rather disappointed that the heroine/main character did not get to explore her amazing (on-screen) chemistry with the #DILF that is J u n g S u n g I l (H a D o – Y e o n g in the series). IMHO, there was no chemistry at all between the heroine and her love interest in the series. Their kissing scene was like the slap of a wet dishrag in the face! Having said all this… how the loose ends of every plot/subplot were tied up very neatly in the end was very satisfying to this viewer. I was half afraid that the writers were going to go the “realist way” and not give the villain her just desserts but Alhamdulillah she received wot she deserved in the most satisfying manner 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Went for a foot, shoulder and neck massage at F*otsie Spa nearby in the evening. My usual masseuse, Rozie was off so I took Mai who is Wes’ usual masseuse. OK lah, I still prefer Rozie, perhaps I am so used to her technique already. Wes tried a new masseuse (from Thailand) but said she was rather rubbish. When asked to press harder, she started pinching him. Apaaaadah. Sky, the other Thai masseuse there, who once gave me a body massage was pretty good. Will get Wes to try her massage next time.
